EMDR and Ego Strengthening
EMDR is often used to create new neuro pathways in the brain. We can work to strengthen our self-concept in a way to help us have more confidence, feel more grounded or secure and develop a sense of inner peace and stability. This is especially helpful for performance enhancement like public speaking, sports or sexual performance. Again, it allows us to manage nerves and doubts in a controlled environment so they are less scary and we can focus on how we would like to actually act in the moment. Our brain is more able to identify and fall into more positive patterns once we lay the ground work to do so. It is like laying a new railroad track to more positive thinking and this process lets you flip the switch to transition to the new track.
